Scooters Mopeds

Not to be confused with scooters, mopeds are also a great means of urban transportation. These vehicles generally use engines that are smaller than 50cc, and in some cases have pedals, thus the name “moped”. They often have gas tanks that hold less than gallon of gas.

Small scooters / mopeds are seeing a bit of resurgence in popularity. Many mopeds from the 1960’s and 1970’s are being rebuilt and are being ridden again. They can be purchased inexpensively, and fixing them up is a relatively easy process.

Small scooters / mopeds are being seen on college campuses all over the country. Many moped riders will “tweak” their bikes to create custom looks and upgrade the performance. Custom exhaust, intakes and paint jobs are quite common.
